books 1-4

In Book one- Athena comes down to help Telemachus and she is assuming the role of odysseus old friend. She tells him to mente's Telemachus that Odysseus will return to Ithica soon, and that he should tell all suitors that they are banished. When he tells the suitors this two Antinous, and Eurymachos both ask him who the vistor was and he reply's even though he thought there was a godlike being there he said his fathers old friend.

Book two- Telemachus meets infront of an assembly of men and tells them that the suitors and the people he is talking to, have no respect for what his father has done. They eat all the sheep, and any other food. Telemachus decides to find a crew and leave to find his father Athena disguises as a man named mentor, another old friend of odysseus. He tells just about no one that he is leaving, except for Eurycleia a nurse who tries to talk him out of it, but he goes anyway.

Book three- When they get to Pylos mentor convinces Telemachus to talk to nestor the king of Pylos about his father. He unfortunetly doesn't have any information about him. But Nestor tells him to go to sparta to talk to Menelaus.

Book four- Telemachus arrives in Sparta and he talks to Menelaus and he talks about Calypso and how Ulysses is trapped on her island. And the suitors are planing to kill Telemachus when they head back to Ithica.

The meaning of the monster

I think the bank represents a monster because a person wouldn't let another person go hungry if they had extra food and the bank is taking everything away from this family. And not giving them anything in return after they gave them money for generations. The bank just wants to make more money if it isn't constantly making money it dies (shuts down) so they could care less about a family. A monster is someone or somthing that does cruel things intentionally and that is what the bank is doing intentionally throwing a family in the cold to fend for themselves.
